Fr. Charles Klamut was ordained in 1999. He grew up in Waukegan, IL and graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville and Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St Louis. His previous assignments include St Philomena, Peoria Notre Dame High School, and St Mark’s in Peoria; St John’s Catholic Newman Center in Champaign-Urbana; St Ambrose in Milan; and St Patrick in Andalusia. He has been pastor of St Anthony since 2020.
I joined the St. Anthony community in February 2024 after previously serving as a Deacon at Holy Family Parish in Peoria, St. Mary’s in Kickapoo and St. Patrick’s in Elmwood. I am currently the Co-Spiritual Director of Cursillo, which provides the opportunity for people to strengthen their relationship with Christ through prayer, study and action.
Married to Therese, we have four children, four grandchildren, two dogs and a cat, who we also consider to be members of the family. Acknowledging the bond between people and their pets, I held a Blessing of the Pets at St. Anthony’s last October. It was to give thanks, remember the covenant between God and all creation, and honor St. Francis of Assisi and his love for animals. I hope to make this an annual event.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I’m a familiar face at St. Anthony’s in my role as Pastoral Assistant and as a member of the choir. No matter which Mass you attend, you’ll most likely see me there. In the parish office I’m the person behind the desk and on the other end of the phone when you call. My job is to oversee the daily operations of the parish, including preparation of the weekly readings, announcements, and Prayers of the Faithful. I manage the Mass Intentions schedule, am editor of the parish bulletin and am responsible for the maintenance of the financial affairs of the parish.
Music has been a part of my life for many years, as a founding member, past member or current member of: Marquette Choral Society, Plymouth (MI) Oratorio Society, Ephphetha Camerata Chorale (Peoria), Heritage Ensemble, St. Anthony Camerata Chorale Festival Choir, and the St. Anthony Church choir. Through my involvement with music, I’ve traveled to Austria, Germany, France, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Italy, and Israel.
I grew up in the Greater Detroit area and graduated from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. It’s not surprising then that I’m a fan of the University of Michigan, the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and Pistons. I moved to Peoria in 1996 and joined the St. Anthony community in 2009. I’ve been active with Cursillo and am currently a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4333, Peoria. I am married to Mary Ann Fahey-Darling and between us we have ten children, 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren (so far).

I have been blessed to serve the people of St. Anthony Parish by serving on the altar, visiting the sick, and burying the dead. I have also worked in the Prison Ministry and been active in the Cursillo and TEC communities.
After the parish’s all-purpose Liturgical Center was constructed in 1972, I volunteered as an usher, lector, Eucharistic Minister, Youth Minister and served on the Parish Council. In September of 1973 my wife Pam and I made a Marriage Encounter and became active in the program working as a Presenter Coupe. We made the first Marriage Retorno, which emphasized prayer as a couple and the study of Sacred Scripture. In 1977 our family attended a national program entitled “Family 77” held as Estes Park, Colorado where I discerned my call to apply to the 2nd Class of Permanent Deacons and was accepted.
In November 2023 I entered Senior status and now enjoy being with Pam, my children, grandchildren, my Church family and my friends.
I joined the staff in 2009 as the Director of Liturgical Music and enjoy being part of the St. Anthony community. Having studied at Bradely University, I have performed professionally as a Liturgical Music Director, choral, vocal and guitar teacher, accompanist and vocal soloist for the past 50 years.
In 2014 I founded the St. Anthony Camerata Chorale Festival Choir. I was blessed to lead them on a choir journey to Italy during the Jubilee Year of Mercy in 2015-2016. Singing at the Papal Mass of Epiphany in St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City, was the highlight of the trip with concerts and Masses also in Rome, Florence and Assisi. I am excited to still direct this beautiful Festival Choir with concerts held twice a year in the Diocese of Peoria.
I founded and directed the Ephphetha Ecumenical Choir, which sang at the Vatican for St. John Paul II. The choir traveled throughout Central and Northern Italy, Austria, Germany, France, England, Wales and Ireland on subsequent musical tours and memorably presented concerts in Peoria’s Sister Cities of Friederichshafen, Germany and Clonmel, Ireland. The Ephphetha Ecumenical Choir also performed for a live PBS broadcast and at the Peoria Civic Center, Carnegie Hall and the White House.
While I am blessed to have so many wonderful experiences through music, my proudest accomplishment is being mom to seven children, grandma to nineteen, and great grandma to two. I reside in Peoria with my husband/helper/friend and fellow musician, John Darling.
I have been the Director of Religious Education (DRE) at St. Anthony’s since August 2017 but I have been involved with the Faith Formation program since the summer of 2000 when I was a volunteer at our first ever VBS. That fall I started as an assistant catechist (teacher) in the kindergarten Faith Formation class eventually moving into the lead catechist position. I taught the kindergarten class through the Spring of 2020 when my DRE duties made it prudent for me to stop.
I am married to Dean Campbell, a chemistry professor at Bradley and have two adult children –Kristine and Katie. I began working on my master’s degree in Pastoral Theology at the Augustine Institute in 2021. I am taking one class at a time and hope to graduate in May 2026. I have the best job in the world because I get to share my faith with others on a regular basis and I get a front row seat to watch God work in the lives of our students and families.
I joined the staff in March 2025 with over 27 years experience in the non-profit field. During that time I held a variety of positions including: Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, Director of Programs and Grants, and Community Engagement Coordinator. I enjoyed each opportunity as it provided me with the chance to contribute to a meaningful cause.
I’ve been a member of St. Anthony’s since 2006. Originally from New Jersey, I moved here in 2001 when I married my husband Jeff, whom I met through a mutual friend. Getting involved with the church community helped me meet new people and feel welcome. Currently I am the Women’s Club Secretary, a Garage Sale chairperson, and a member of the Sunday morning choir and Festival Choir.
I am a big sports enthusiast and a fan of the Peoria Chiefs, Peoria City Soccer, NY Mets, NY Jets, NY Liberty and UConn Huskies. Jeff and I enjoy going to sporting events, traveling throughout the U.S., supporting the arts, spending time with our nieces, nephews and great-niece and spoiling our dog, Buster.
