Cursillo

Catholic Diocese of Peoria Area Cursillo

The Peoria Cursillo, sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Peoria, is primarily a lay movement. It is an instrument of renewal by which Christianity can permeate, live and grow in today’s world. It proposes no new type of spirituality but a method through which one’s spirituality can be strengthened, lived and shared in all areas of one’s environment.

A Peoria Cursillo weekend happens four times a year, with two held for men and two for women. It takes place at St. Anthony’s and begins on a Thursday evening and ends on a Sunday night. In 2025, a Women’s Cursillo weekends are scheduled for May 29 to June 1 and Oct. 23 to 26. A Men’s Cursillo weekend is scheduled for Aug. 21 to 24.

A Prison Cursillo occurs 2 to 4 times a year for men in Illinois prisons, starting each day in the morning and ending late afternoon on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Team members go home each evening and return the next morning.

We invite you to discover the Cursillo Movement, which is spreading the love of Christ worldwide, in more than 60 countries and across the religious spectrum. Visit https://peoriacursillo.org/ to find out more about what it is, how it happens, and its benefits or contact us.
